Hockey has taken Terrell Vekved all over Canada, and now he plays in Golden for the Rockets.
Since he was four years old, Vekved has been on the ice, working every day to make his skills better and earn his way to Junior B.
His favourite memory growing up was travelling with his hockey teams to tournaments in Vancouver and Toronto.
Vekved decided to come to Golden to become a part of rebuilding a team and to help improve the Rockets’ record from previous years.
No matter how the team is doing, Vekved tries to be as supportive as possible to his teammates.
Over the next season, Vekved wants to come out in the positive and become a leader in the back end. In the future, he would like to go to university to complete a bachelor of science.
Vekved had a big weekend on November 16 and 17, scoring a pair of goals and leading the team in hits, said head coach Jeremy Blumes.
“[Vekved] missed some time with an illness, and since he returned to our lineup, there had been a noticeable difference on out bac end in terms of our group’s physicality and confidence,” Blumes said. “[He] brings a quiet confidence and intensity that has a positive impact on our team dynamic.”
