Golden Rockets snuff out Kimberley Dynamiters fuse

The Golden Rockets pick up two points from a 5-2 victory over the Kimberley Dynamiters.

The Rockets blasted the Dynamiters out of the water on Tuesday Jan. 17 with a Golden victory over Kimberley.

By the half-way mark of the first period, eight Rockets players made it onto the scoreboard with three goals from Connor Beauchemin, Dallas Flockhart and Keith Wake.

The second period saw the Rockets in a bit of penalty trouble, giving up four power plays, and surrendering one goal to Dynamiter Rylan Duley.

Jacob Bergeron reclaimed the three-goal lead early in the third, with his first goal and second point of the game.

Kimberley managed to slip one past goaltender Jarrod Shamerhorn, shorthanded, but Golden still finished the game three goals up after an empty netter from Wake.

The final score was 5-2 for Golden.

The next home game for the Rockets is Friday Jan. 20 versus the Nelson Leafs.
