On February 4, 2012, seven members of Kicking Horse Gymnastics Club’s Competitive Team travelled to Nelson for the Glacier Gymnastics Judges Cup. It is a competition for gymnasts to demonstrate their routines and for judges to hone their skills at the beginning of the competition season. All the girls competed in Provincial Level 2 and they did a phenomenal job as they adjusted their routines to competition equipment. Jasmine Wan, Kelsey Lloyd, Makayla Beam are aged in the Open Category where they will vie for a position to go to provincials.  Makayla Beam was ranked 9th in the Province last year and is now part of our gymnastics coaching staff.  Zara Johnson and Midori Nagao are in the Novice Category, Rachel Cochran is in the Tyro Category and Kayla Lush is in the Argo Category.  There will be 15 athletes competing from Kicking Horse Gymnastics at the Key City Fiesta Gymnastics Competition happening in Cranbrook on March 3 and 4. Our Winter Spring Recreational Session is starting up the week of February 13 with some space available.
