Little Mittens hosting adopt-a-thon Saturday

Little Mittens has more than 30 kittens and cats available for adoption at a cost of $50 each, half the regular price.

Spring is here and Little Mittens Animal Rescue is hoping to move some of the group’s cats out of its facility by holding an adopt-a-thon this Saturday Mar. 29. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Little Mittens’ animal shelter, which is located at the end of Airport Road.

Little Mittens has more than 30 kittens and cats available for adoption at a cost of $50 each, half the regular price. The cats come spayed or neutered, vaccinated and de-wormed, procedures that would cost close to $300 at a vet.

“We’ve still got quite a few cats that need homes right now, probably between 30 and 40,” said Little Mittens’ Jamie Crawford. “Kitten season is starting any time now, once the snow is completely melted we’re going to start seeing more kittens coming in so we want to try and get as many of the ones we have now out.”

Applications can be filled out on location and approval decisions will be made on the spot. Payment is due up front and Little Mittens encourages adopters to bring something to transport their new pet home in.
