Golden’s own Sunshine Group returned home with a very impressive result after travelling to Cranbrook to compete in a Special Olympics bowling tournament.
Victoria Ewing, Anju Mall and Tyler Ralph placed third overall in the tournament, playing against teams from all over the Kootenays. This is the first time the team ever placed in the Pat Mark Memorial Tournament.
The group was very excited to be participating in the event, and was thrilled to return home with such a great result.
“Even if you had only one player who wanted to participate, they would place you with another team. They’re so great, just getting people involved. It’s so much fun,” said Cheryl Ralph who travelled with the team to help coach.
The three athletes now have trophies to commemorate their victory.
