Dear Editor,

Dear Editor,

Back in the 1970s, I was watching one of my favourite sitcoms, “All in the Family,” with one of the characters being Archie Bunker.

In one skit, he was in an airport. He was asked by a reporter what could be done to deter all the plane hijackings going on at that time. He quickly responded, “arm all the passengers.”

I laughed and laughed some more. Now, Trump suggests that they arm teachers,

I’m not laughing anymore.
