Kids Matter!

I feel like I don’t matter in some places in this community and I’m sure others do too.

I’m 10 years old and go to lady Grey Elementary School, and I would like you to put this in the newspaper because I think it could help make Golden a better place to live in for kids.

I feel like I don’t matter in some places in this community and I’m sure others do too. Our school motto is “You matter in the community of awesome,” and the short term is YMCA.

I don’t like clerks at the stores letting people cut in line when they know I’m there to buy something, and believe me that happens a lot, and then when my mom walks in they make up excuses for why they let the other person go first.

So it’s not fair!

The way I look at this community, it needs a lot of cleaning up. I really enjoy living in Golden but sometimes I wish people could remember kids matter just as much as adults do. Kids might not own houses, they might not own cars, and they probably don’t have jobs. But when you were a kid did you want to get treated like this?

I hope you take this into consideration and just remember kids matter in the community of awesome!
