Wayne DeMuelenaere Sr. died suddenly at his residence in Golden on Saturday, April 2nd, 2011 at the age of 78 years. A Memorial Service was held at the Golden Senior’s Center on Thursday afternoon, April 14th with Reverend Judith Hardcastle officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice, in memory of Wayne.
Wayne was born in Coutts, Alberta on March 9, 1933 and had been a resident of Golden since 1974. He was a member of the Senior’s Association, Royal Canadian Legion, Vintage Car Club and the Horseshoe Club and was Past President of the Lions Club. Wayne enjoyed woodworking, antique cars, fishing and playing crib.
Wayne was predeceased by his spouse Shirley Faulkner in 1995. He is survived by two children: Wayne (Heather) of Golden and Annie DeMuelenaere of Calgary; step children: Gord Faulkner, Ron (Sue) Faulkner and Nancy Faulkner, (Russ) all of Golden; grandchildren: Tasha (T.J.) of Calgary and Daphane (Kelly) of Lacombe; two great grandchildren: Delvin and Emmit; one sister, Norma (Cliff) Burne of Nanaimo, as well as nephews and nieces and his best friend Skipper.
