"... just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve..." Matthew 20:28
Wayne slipped silently into eternity last Wednesday, September 18th, in Golden. Born in Sudbury, Ontario, 12th of 13 children, Wayne spent much of his youth in Windsor, Ontario. He proudly served our country as a member of the Royal Canadian Regiment. Some 30 years ago Wayne moved to Golden where he gladly served in a variety of jobs/roles throughout the community. He selflessly served others, and now is at peace and rest as Jesus took him home to Heaven, where he is with mum - Noella Marie (nee Tremblay), dad - Douglas Earl, sisters - Lorna, Bonnie and Faye, and brothers - Doug, Dennis, and Joseph. He is survived by older siblings Carole, Glen, Steve, Ray, Brenda and 'baby' sister, Katherine. Whilst our hearts are breaking for the loss of our beloved brother, we are also so happy that he is no longer fighting the battle against cancer. Sincere gratitude to Dr. Cunes and the wonderful nursing staff at Golden & District Hospital. As Wayne went home to be in Heaven, surely Jesus said to him, "Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:21. There will be no funeral or burial service here in Golden, as his ashes are being returned to Windsor for that. Instead, we are having A Celebration of Life for Wayne on Thursday, September 26th at 6:30 pm, at the Golden Civic Centre. Please come to share stories of my dear big brother! All are welcome.
