It is with deep sorrow that the family of Vonda Foraie announces her passing on Tuesday December 6, 2011 in Golden, B.C. at the age of 81.
Vonda was born in Porcupine Plains Saskatchewan on November 5, 1930. Predeceased by brothers Leo, Adolph and Mike. Survived by sisters Sylvia and Liz.
A woman of pure strength and independence, Vonda saught out a teaching career, graduating from the University of Saskatchewan in 1951.
Vonda met and soon married Mike on December 31, 1954.
Family and the start of a homestead began in Creston, then to Donald and finally settling in the Blaeberry in the 1960’s.
Raising the family was a full time commitment which Vonda did with pride and diligence. Vonda did steal moments away to herself to walk the Blaeberry Valley, gaze at the night sky, and play her guitar. Vonda also loved to read, sing, listen to music, especially Johnny Cash, sew her children and grandchildren clothes, and work in her garden; providing nearly everyone near and far with fresh grown strawberries and potatoes.
Vonda will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jennifer(Jeffrey), Dan, Ann, (Kevin,Cody,Reyd), Julie, (Kris), Vonda (Emilio), Tanya (Blair, Tarin,Tessa, Sarah). Predeceased by sons Micheal, Sanno (Jacky, Samantha), Joe (Sue, Micheal, Brandy, Bobbie-Jo) and especially her husband Mike. Also numerous great-grandchildren and friends.
Vonda’s funeral mass was held at the Anglican Church on Saturday December 10, 2011 at 2 p.m.
Her Interment followed at the Golden Cemetery.
The family would like to thank everyone who has shown kindness and love to Vonda over her lifetime, you will never be forgotten.
