Velma Bell

Velma passed peacefully at Joseph Creek Village,

Cranbrook, B.C., on Jan 30, 2007, at the age of 93. She was born in Parry Sound, Ontario December 18, 1913, moved to Golden, B.C. in 1947 and to Cranbrook in 1993.


Velma was a member of the United Church Women’s Group in both Golden and Cranbrook as well as a member of the Golden and Cranbrook chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star. Velma will be lovingly remembered by her son

Curtis (Karen), grandchildren Robyn and Kirsten and great grandchildren Shayden, Jonace and Brantley as well as several nieces and nephews back in Eastern Canada and the USA. She was predeceased by her husband Walter (1988), son Robert (2000) and brother Douglas.


There was a Memorial Service held on Monday February 5th, 2007 at the Cranbrook United Church, Reverend Barbara Langton officiating. Memorial donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, #101- 105 9th Ave Cranbrook, BC V1C 2M1.
