It is with the deepest sadness that we announce Tim’s untimely passing on January 24th, 2020 following a brief battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully with his family by his side.
Tim will be lovingly remembered by his wife Linda; two daughters Amanda and Erin (Zac); three brothers, Art (Kathleen), Terry (June) and Barry (Hilary); many nieces and nephews, numerous extended family members and a host of friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Hisashi and Isako Sakamoto.
Tim was born on June 27th, 1952 in Kelowna, B.C. He graduated in 1970 from Rutland High School. Tim attended Okanagan College to complete his Business Administration diploma, before continuing his education to obtain his Accounting degree .
Tim began his career with Kal Tire on January 5th, 1981 and over the span of the next 39 years was involved in various departments within the company. He loved going to work and was a devoted and much loved member of the Kal Tire family.
When not at the office, he could be found on the golf course, the badminton court or working out with a couple of his close friends. Tim had a true passion for sports; whether it be watching his girls play, or loudly supporting his favourite teams on television. He loved it all.
Tim’s first love was for his “girls” and was an extremely proud husband and father, always cherishing the special times they could spend together as a family.
