Stan passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011 after a lengthy battle with cancer. Stan was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Stan moved to DONALD, B.C. in 1979, and spent the next 25 years working in the forest industry until he moved to High River, Alberta in 2002. He worked for the Calgary Stampede Security team from 2002 until he retired in 2010, a job he truly loved. Stan loved fishing, hunting and discovered a passion for woodworking in his later years. He is survived by his wife Donna of 46 years and his children Kari(John) of Grande Praire, Dave (Deanna) of Golden, Lorena (John) of Okotoks and his grandchildren Denay, Jory, Jessica, Gage, Jaime and Christina, sister Janice and her son Jamie of Calgary, mother-in-law Helen of Westbank, sister-in-law Julie(Arliegh) of Kelowna, Brothers-in-law David of Kelowna and Gary of Calgary, his uncle Ivan(Joan) of Didsbury, cousins
Stewart and Marlene and many nieces,
nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by son Patrick, Mother Evelyn, Father Stanley and Step-Mom Isabelle. According to Stan’s wishes there will be no formal services. However a celebration of his life will be held in May 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Foothills Country Hospice at www.countryhospice.org
