February 26, 1937 – July 1, 2018
It is with great sadness that the family of Roger Harvey Audet announce his sudden passing on July 1, 2018 at home in Golden, BC. He was 81 years old.
Roger was born in Waterville, Quebec on February 26, 1937. He came out to Golden around 1960, where he later met and married his wife Susan. He initially owned a repair shop, and then established Top Notch Landscaping which operated until 2012. Roger was a hardworking man who valued integrity, simplicity, and solitude. He solved complex problems creatively and thrived in his various work projects. He would often be seen keeping busy amongst several of his favourite pieces of equipment. He also had a fondness of wildlife, particularly birds who often kept him company as he worked. Coincidentally, a new wildlife rescue sanctuary is being established on the same property where Roger first settled in Golden.
Roger is survived by his wife of 40 years, Susan, daughters Marianne (John) Meyer, Irene (Nathan) Brown, and five granddaughters. Roger is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Rochque Audet (Ida), Simone (Camille) Riendeau, Rachelle Poulin, Bertrand Audet, Leandre (Therese) Audet, Lucien Audet, Roland Audet and their children.
Roger is predeceased by his sister, Jaqueline Audet, and brother, Jean-Louis Audet.
In keeping with his Roger’s private nature, in lieu of a memorial service donation can be made to Little Mittens Animal Rescue Association: http://www.littlemittens.org/home/donate
