Robert George (Bob) Higginson passed away peacefully at Durand Manor, Golden on Tuesday, February 12th, 2008 at the age of 86 years. A Funeral Service will be held from the chapel of Hindman Bowers Funeral Home, Golden on Wednesday afternoon, February 20th, at 2 p.m. with Reverend Helen Lapka officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Golden Community Cemetery. Flowers are acceptable.
Bob was born in Calgary, Alberta on June 5, 1921 and had been a resident of Golden since 1953. He was a veteran of World War 2, serving overseas where he met and fell in love with Henny. Bob enjoyed fishing, horses and working on vintage cars. He especially loved taking videos with his camera and cooking, both of which he was very accomplished at. Bob’s greatest joy in life was his family and he enjoyed being with every one of them.
Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife Henny, his parents, two sisters Irma and Lorraine and one brother Wilfred. He is survived by five sons: George (Lorna), Reg (Louise), Dave (Nina), Ron and Terry (Rosa), all of Golden; 12 grandchildren: Tanya, Jason, David, Carol, Tammy, Jennifer, Johnathan, Janie, Dianna, Michelle, Nathan and Amanda, 12 great grandchildren, two sisters: June Dinning of Spruce Grove, Alberta and Irene Higginson of Vernon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were in the care of Hindman Bowers Funeral Home, Golden.
