Noble Simpson passed away in Golden & District Hospital on Thursday, September 4, 2008 at the age of 66 years.
A celebration of life service was held from Hindman/Bowers Funeral Chapel, Golden, on Tuesday, September 9th at 1:00 p.m. with Jack Bowers, Celebrant. Tributes were shared by family and friends, with a reception following at the chapel, allowing the friends to continue sharing memories.
Honorary bearers were Duane Corbett, Ray, Glen and Jason Tress, Gerry Leigan and Joe Newton.
Cremation with interment took place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Cranbrook, on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Ron Foubister officiating.
Noble was born in Economy, Nova Scotia on May 1, 1942. He made the journey to BC and Cranbrook in May of 1963, within a year moving north to the Parson area. He is well remembered for his work in the logging industry, love of gardening, his kindness to his family, friends and animals.
Noble is survived by his wife, Heather; son, James (Sara) of Cranbrook; four grandchildren, Austin, Dylan, Alyssa and Jayden; mother, Ena and brother, Maynard (Susan) of Nova Scotia; niece, Kimberly of Nova Scotia; cousin, Duane (Linda) Corbett of Golden, and several other cousins and relatives.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory of Noble.
