Mr. Maurice Trevor (Moe) Ricard passed away at the Golden and District General Hospital on Tuesday, October 25th at the age of 63 years.
A Celebration of Life service was held from the Golden Senior’s Center on Monday, October 31st with family and friends officiating. Interment of Moe’s cremated remains will take place in the family plot of the Golden Community Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in care of P.O. Box 498, Golden, B.C. V0A 1H0, in memory of Moe.
Moe was born in Westlock, Alberta on November 9, 1947 and had been a lifelong resident of Golden and worked in the logging industry. Moe got into safety with Ledcor industries and continued this area of work when he ventured overseas for Nexen Industries in the Yemen where he was in the safety department. Tercon Industries then recruited Moe as the Safety Director for the past several years. He loved spending time in the outdoors; fishing and playing golf and also enjoyed a good game of pool. Moe was always tinkering and loved to build projects and create small inventions. He loved to barter and was always willing to trade his skills with another to get projects completed.
Moe was predeceased by his parents; George and Eileen Ricard; sister-in-law Penny Ricard and nephews: Wayne Vignet and Shane Ricard. He is survived by his wife, Linda of Golden; three sons: David of Golden, Danny of Edmonton and Joe (Kourtney) of Golden; four grandchildren: Brayden, Roxy, Kailey and Wiley; siblings: Henry (Susan) Ricard, Georgina (Jim) Gaetz of Revelstoke, Doris (Terry) Ferguson of Armstrong and Jeanette Vignet of Enderby; parents-in-law Walter and Mabel Miller of Golden and sister-in-law Anne Miller of Red Deer as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many good friends.
