Louie Holland was born on July 21st, 1911 and was called Home to be with his Lord on April 18th, 2010 at the age of 98 years.
Louie will be lovingly remembered by his children, Harold (Patricia) Holland of Golden, B.C., Barbara Ferworn of Calgary, Alberta and Robert (Helen) Holland of Revelstoke, B.C.; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Benjamin (Margot) Holland and Clive (Ann) Porteous of Vernon, B.C.; one sister, Ella Reid of Surrey, B.C.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife Frieda; his son-in-law, Alan Ferworn; four brothers and four sisters.
From 1952 to 1973 Louie worked in Golden for the Golden Lumber Company (now known as Louisiana Pacific) as a logging foreman or a road construction supervisor. The family moved to Golden from Vernon in 1963. Louie and Frieda moved back to Vernon in 1973 when he retired.
A funeral service was held for Louie on April 30th, 2010 at Living Word Lutheran Church in Vernon.
