Lawrence “Toby” Allen Josephson passed away at the Golden and District General Hospital on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the age of 72 years. A memorial service will be held at the Golden Seniors Center on Tuesday, July 2 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation, 4-1551 Sutherland Ave, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 9M9 or the Canadian Cancer Society, 202-1835 Gordon Drive, Kelowna, B.C., V1Y 3H5, in memory of Toby.
Toby was born on July 29, 1946 in Rose Valley, Saskatchewan. He met and married Louise Laybourne and soon after they settled in Golden, B.C. Toby was a family man and enjoyed camping, fishing and the great outdoors. He spent time in his garden and always had a new project on the go. His hobby of choice was tinkering with engines, big and small. Toby was a long-time resident of Golden and enjoyed his community; especially time spent with his regular coffee group.
Lawrence was predeceased by his parents. He is survived by his wife Louise and his son Dan Josephson who were both born in and reside in Golden; his daughter Janet (Wayne) Banta who was born in High River and resides in Grande Prairie, Alberta; grandchildren Talus and Cole Josephson who were both born in Golden, and Blake Banta born in Grande Prairie Alberta as well as three brothers; Marlon Chapman, Cameron Chapman and Garnet Chapman all of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
