Judith Leslie Hudson (Neville) passed away at 11:30 am on April 15th, 2010 with a view of the lake that she loved in front of her and her husband, daughters, grand-daughter and mother together around her. She was 59.

Judy devoted her life to her family, those she was close with and the children she taught in her 24 years as a kindergarten teacher. Judy liked to be busy – and her days were always full, particularly during the “four kids and a St. Bernard” years – though she always found the time to sew a complex skating costume, cook an amazing meal, or construct an elaborate gingerbread house.

Judy was born to Thomas and Laurie Neville on October 28, 1950 in Golden BC and was the oldest of three daughters (Kerrie Davis and Chrys-Ellen Neville). She grew up in Golden and moved to Victoria to attend the University of Victoria. She studied Elementary Education and met her husband of 38 years, Dan Hudson, while a practicum teacher in Prince George.

Judy and Dan lived with their four daughters: Kyra, Danya, Reagen and Chelsey in Quesnel, Hope, Prince George, Kelowna, Princeton, 100 Mile House and Cloverdale BC, before eventually retiring together to the property they loved and the home they built at Shuswap Lake in 2007.

Even while battling cancer for the past five years Judy continued to live passionately: travelling, building the home she and Dan planned for a lifetime and coaching at the birth of her first grand-daughter, Roma.

A private family celebration of life is planned later this month. In lieu of flowers, friends are welcomed to give a book to a child or memorial donations can be made to Judy’s favorite charities: BC Children’s Hospital, World Vision and Shuswap Lake General Hospital.
