It is with profound sadness the family of Joan Toppin announces her passing on Monday, February 20, 2017 in Cranbrook, BC. She died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family and friends.
Joan was born July 8, 1930 in Centreville Alberta to Charles and Aura Hazen. She was one of nine children.
Joan is survived by her six children, Lorena (Dennis) Hall, Budd (Marie) Toppin, Roy Toppin (Brenda Kotchar), Nina (Dean) Giberson, Betty (Tim) Arkinstall, and Bertha Arkinstall; sister, Iona Roper, sister-in-law Nancy (Les) Zlynski, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and their families and friends.
Joan was predeceased by her loving husband Ronald Toppin, her parents, five brothers and two sisters, and her son-in-law, Marven Arkinstall.
A funeral service was held at the Hindman Bower Funeral Home in Golden B.C. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1:00 pm with Majors Kirk and Linda Green officiating. Interment followed in the Golden Community Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is set up at the Cranbrook Salvation Army in memory of our loving mother, Joan.
