It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeff Fischer on Thursday October 13, 2016. Jeff was a friendly, gentle, easy going person by nature.
He was born in Edmonton, AB, but spent the largest part of his youth on the farm near Barrhead AB.
He has spent many years as a resident of Golden. Jeff was well loved by many people. Although he was sometimes a bit of a recluse he made friends easily and seemed to like everyone he met. He loved the mountains and being close to nature. He loved going for long walks and fishing was his favourite past time.
Jeff was an avid reader with a wide range of interests in the variety of stories he read.
Jeff was also very industrious and always had at least four projects on the go at a time. He loved woodworking and building models, many he created himself from scratch and was very innovative with his models. He had a strong love for play station challenges, and was also artistically talented.
He worked at a variety of jobs, including janitorial with his step father John Carlson and at Boston Pizza.
Jeff will be sadly missed by his mother, Maureen Carlson (John), father Allan Fischer (Darlene), sister Tammy Marie (Scott), niece Amanda and nephew Jessie, as well as many friends.
We wish to thank; the Home Support Services for their excellent care with Jeff’s in-home visits, Dr. Bruce Starke, Dr. J. Cunes, Dr. Simons from Cranbrook Hospital, also Rev. Michele Rowe for her loving support, and spiritual care. Also the many people who gave Jeff and us, (his family) support during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Jeff’s life will be held at the St Andrew’s United Church, Golden, BC on Saturday October 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Cancer Society.
