Jalson Anderson passed away at the Golden & District General Hospital on Thursday, October 16th, 2008 at the age of 90 years. Funeral Service was held at the Chapel of Hindman Bowers Funeral Home, Golden on Thursday afternoon, October 23rd with interment following in the Mountain View Legion Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 1633 Pandosy Street, Kelowna, B.C. V1Y 1P6, in memory of Jalmer.
Jalmer was born in Golden, B.C. on August 23, 1918 and had been a life-long resident. He was active with the Canadian Forces during World War II and he served with the Beach Patrol on the west coast of Canada. Jalmer loved farming, especially his cows. He enjoyed working in the bush and socializing with his friends. During the construction of the Big Bend Highway, Jalmer drove a team of horses to help with the work.
Jalmer was predeceased by his parents, one brother Gus in 1984 and his nephew Andy Anderson in 1995. He is survived by his nephew Raymond, his niece Cheryl; three great nephews: Brian, Lee (Tara) and Tim (Stacy); niece-in-law Sharon Anderson as well as numerous great, great nieces and nephews.
