October 19, 1965 – October 6, 2021
It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Ian Geoffrey Graham.
Ian was born in Toronto, Ontario and moved west to Banff, Alberta in his teens. From there he moved to Golden where he fell in love with the area and was happy to call Golden his home.
Ian is survived by his loving partner Michele, his son Hunter, his brother James, and many, many, friends. He is predeceased by his father Dr. John Graham and his mother Beverley Graham (nee Minhinnick).
Ian loved the surrounding rivers and was a river guide for many years. He was also an avid skier and an avid dirt bike rider. He spent many days in the summer riding to beautiful, remote places with Hunter by his side.
He was introduced to Rotary and although not a Rotarian, volunteered with Michele whenever he was asked. He was the Rotary bingo caller with the deep voice that made him somewhat famous in the valley. He was delighted when someone would ask, “are you Ian, the bingo guy?”
Ian had many careers which he worked passionately at and made many friends. Most recently he worked at Golden Concrete. He loved driving the big cement trucks and would talk to anyone who would listen about them.
Ian was passionate about his family, his friends and the outdoors. He loved life and lived it with an exuberance rarely seen. He always had a smile on his face and loved to laugh. He wanted everyone around him to be as happy as he was. He was infectious.
Ian will be sadly missed, but will be in our hearts forever.
There will be a celebration of life that will be announced later in the spring when everyone can join together to remember him.Obituary
