Passed away peacefully on January 22, 2010 in Penticton, B.C. at the age of 76 after a short but courageous battle with cancer. He will be sadly missed and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 51 years, Shirley, his son Steven, Burnaby, B.C. daughter Sheila (Keith), granddaughters Nicole and Sydney, Penticton, B.C. and his loyal companion, Skye.

Gordon was born March 16, 1933 in  Nakusp, B.C., moving to the Golden area in 1960. He spent most of his life working tirelessly as a logging truck contractor. He had a passion for his many hobbies including his favorites of being a private pilot, fishing, hunting, ham radio operator, photography and travelling in his motor home. In addition he possessed great skill and ingenuity in his metal working projects.

He led his life with honesty and integrity which led to him acquiring his many friends in the area. Gordon and his family appreciated all assistance and offers of help from friends during his last year as his mobility began to falter.

A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews United Church,

1020 9th Street, Golden, B.C. on Saturday January 30, 2010 at 2:00pm.

Tea and coffee will follow at Seniors Center.
