Mr. Friedrich Fabian (Fred) Mace died suddenly in Golden on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2011 at the age of 76 years.
Prayers for the late Fred Mace were recited from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Golden on Friday evening, December 2nd followed by the Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday morning, December 3rd with Father Jim McHugh celebrant. Interment followed in the Golden Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Ken Soehn, Bob Lee, Andreas Mace, Garry Habart, Joe Wilson and Dallas Bjarnason. The eulogy was presented by Marilyn Allison.
Fred was born in Vienna, Austria on May 4, 1935 and had been a resident of Golden since 1957. He had worked for many years at Crestbrook Forest Industries in Parson, Arkinstall Lumber and Louisiana-Pacific as a planer maintenance person. Fred’s hobbies included puttering with his model trains, playing his accordion and sailing his boat.
Fred was predeceased by his parents and his two sisters: Margaret and Gertrude. He is survived by his loving wife, Helga of Golden; one brother Otto Mace in Vienna, Austria as well as numerous nieces and nephews and several good friends.
