1946-2021 ~ Fred Schiesser died peacefully at Durand Manor on Tuesday, April 27, 2021, after battling dementia.
Fred was born in Golden, BC in 1946. Fred grew up and stayed in Moberly, BC where he was able to pursue his passion of logging and millwork.
He was able to turn his passions into a successful business and spent decades owning and operating Moberly Wood Products. It really was his pride and joy and his lumber is in many homes across BC, Alberta and at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.
Moberly was where Fred belonged, it was his community and he is remembered as a great neighbour who shared his knowledge and skills to help those new to mountain life. Fred loved the peace of the early mornings at his property and was happiest being outside.
Fred will be dearly missed by his children: Tyson, Marissa (Josh), Nadia (Justin), Danny and his grandchildren Jackson and Asher. He is survived by his brother Bernie (Terry) Schiesser and his sisters Margaret (Ed) Gould, Julia Cundliffe, and Nicolette (Dennis) Goff and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Frederick in 1984, his mother Christian in 1987, his twin brother Jacques in 1947, his brother Jacques Doull in 1997, sister Hazel in 2012 and sister Jeanne in 2016.
Fred’s family would like to thank the staff at Durand Manor and Laura Fuller for their care and support.
