Flora was the fifth child of fourteen born to Ovila and Antoinette Grenier on a farm in Plamondon, Alberta. Flora met Norman in Grassland, Alberta and they married October 17, 1955. They then moved to Vancouver where their first four children were born. In the summer of 1964 they packed and moved the family to Golden where Marlon was born The Chambers household was very busy with five children and also from taking in many of Flora’s younger siblings once they left home. She was always busy gardening, knitting, making her famous bread and ensuring good meals were made each night. Once Norman retired they both kept busy working in their gardens and volunteering at the Golden Food Bank. Flora also knitted hundreds of pairs of warm socks for the Lutheran Church. She was affectionately called the “sock lady”.
A private family service will be held at a later date. The family would also like to thank the staff at the golden district hospital and the Vernon Hospice House for their amazing care. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Golden Food Bank.Obituary
