NEUMANN, Esther Iva

December 17, 1957 – Williams Lake, BC

August 21, 2016 – Calgary, AB

Esther Iva Neumann passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the age of 58 years.

Esther was born in Williams Lake on December 17, 1957. Esther had a motto that she lived by “people are more important than things.”  She would say material possessions come and go, you can’t take them with you when you die so spend them generously on the lives of those around you.  Esthers life was a revolving door of generosity and kindness, she didn’t wait until she had two shirts to give one away, she would give away all that she had with no fear of going without because, she would say, the lord always provides. Esther lived in many places throughout her life, Cranbrook BC, Melville, SK, Golden BC, Wardner BC, Yahk BC, Creston BC, Kamloops BC, and Calgary AB, but her family was her forever home.

Esther is survived by her children, Stacey Brock (Holden Brock), Kelly Neumann, Jacob Neumann (Alanna Hartwig), and Dennis Wolfe; her grandchildren, Caitlin Brock (Patrick Domanko), Shelden Brock, Cassandra Chalmers (Lucas Raccio), Alexia Chalmers, Emily Brock, William Brock, and Tasia Chalmers; her father, Joseph Getty and her siblings; Caroline Scott, Sandi Mittgaard (Norm Mittgaard), James Simpson, Samuel Getty, Louis Getty (Judi-Lynn Haskett Getty), and Betty Cargill (Lindsay John), along with several nieces and nephews.

Esther was predeceased by her mother, Thelma Lois Cargill in 1998; brother-in-law, Walter (Red) Scott in 2013 and her sister, Maryanne Wilson in 2014.

A Celebration of life was held in honor of Esther on Saturday August 27th in Calgary, AB. Condolences may be forwarded through
