It is with deep sorrow that the family of Derrek Harold Webb announces his passing on Saturday, May 29th, 2010 in Golden, at the age of 66.
Derrek was born on May 27th, 1944 in Nanaimo, British Columbia. He grew up in Lake Cowichan and graduated from the Lake Cowichan High School. He went on to the University of British Columbia where he earned a degree in Forestry. Throughout his life Derrek worked in the forestry industry at many locations within Alberta and B.C., finally settling in Golden. He loved the outdoors and was never happier than when in the bush. He was an avid photographer, who took advantage of his time in the outdoors to capture many remarkable photos. He loved to fish and spent many hours out in the garden.
Derrek is predeceased by his father Norman Webb. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Dorothy Webb of Golden, his three brothers Douglas (Judy) of Kamloops, David (Beth) of Golden and Donald of Kelowna, as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the Golden Legion Banquet Hall on Saturday, June 26th at 2:00pm.
