February 2, 1939 - June 22, 2020
Deanna Marlene Johansen, born February 2, 1939 in Edmonton, Alberta, passed away on June 22, 2020 at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail, British Columbia surrounded by family.
She was predeceased by her parents Margery and Phillip Christophers, her stepmother Glenna, identical twin Dorothy, sisters Pat, Lynn and Jeannie-Ellen, brothers Bill and Bobby and niece Patty. She was a child of a blended family.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Johansen, sons Brian (Bev) and Dan (Maria) Johansen, grandchildren Lorien Johansen, Tierah Hinchliffe and Spencer Johansen, brothers Phil (Marion) Christophers and Bud (Carol) Granley, dear friends Ren and Diane Gallacher, and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the wonderful 3rd Floor Staff at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and Serendipity home support for the care they provided Deanna prior to her passing.
A special thanks to the staff of Golden Hospital that Deanna worked with and later received services from after her retirement from over 35 years of nursing. Deanna was proud to represent the British Columbia Nurses Union, having worked from Steward to Regional District Chair. She loved to learn, was an avid reader, an accomplished artist and silversmith. She volunteered for the St. Paul's Anglican Church Thrift Store in Golden and was on the church council.
Cremation has taken place and her ashes will be scattered with her twin's ashes during a small family service. Jamie Tarron of Alternatives Funeral & Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with the arrangements.
