Coleen Ann St. Yves (Ochitwa) died suddenly at her residence in Golden, B.C. on Monday, June 20th, 2011 at the age of 48 years. A Memorial Service was held at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, 190 Massey Road, Regina on Monday morning, June 27th, 2011 with Pastor Jeff Tank officiating. A service will follow at a later date in Golden, B.C. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association National Office, 1400 – 522 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M5G 2R5, in memory of Coleen.

Coleen was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on August 22, 1962 and had been a resident of Golden since 1997. She attended the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, earning her Degree in Nursing. Coleen’s jobs included a management position with Public Health in Regina, along with Morris, Saskatchewan, Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, Saskatoon and Thompson, Manitoba. She was also Program Manager at Durand Manor in Golden, B.C. Coleen’s involvement with the Canadian Diabetes Association on the National as well as Provincial Levels resulted in her receiving the Isabelle Burrows (National) Award for her involvement with the CDA. Coleen loved flowers, gardening, music, singing, reading and Volvo cars, along with time spent with her family and friends. Coleen’s first encounter with Gilles was on the ball diamond in Willow Bunch, and that encounter resulted in a 22 year marriage.

Coleen was predeceased by her grandparents, her father Orest, father-in-law Albert St. Yves, uncle Eugene Ochitwa, aunt Marlene Biller and uncle Andy St. Yves. She is survived by her husband Gilles of Golden; mother Doreen Ochitwa of Regina; sister Leanne (Dale) Brooks of Regina and nephew Nathan Brooks of Regina; brother David (Gail) Ochitwa of Okotoks, Alberta and nephew Mitchel Ochitwa and niece Cassandra Ochitwa, both of Okotoks, Alberta; aunt Nadia Ochitwa of Saskatoon; mother-in-law Doris St. Yves of Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan; sister-in-law Madeliene (Danny) Krauss of Lampman, Saskatchewan and nephew Aaron (Angele) Krauss and their son Hunter, of Maznod, Saskatchewan, nephew Jared Krauss of Medicine Hat, Alberta and niece Jackie (Blake) Erb of Saskatoon; cousins Sharon, Dianne, Donna, Lynn, Ian, Susan and their families.
