Sept. 4, 1929 – April 6, 2017

Chris (Christopher) Miller of Golden, B.C. passed away on April 6, 2017 with his loving family by his side at the Cranbrook Regional Hospital in Cranbrook, B.C.

Chris was born to James and Isabelle Miller of Perigord, Sask. and lived there until his teens when the family moved to Kelvington. He there met his loving wife, Lil. They married in Preeceville on Aug. 23, 1954 and lived in Kelvington until June 1, 1956 when the young family moved to Golden, B.C., to the mountains he so passionately loved.

Chris worked nearly 30 years at mills in Golden and Donald (Evans Products) until he retired in Oct. 1985. Chris’s passions were firstly his family; and to travel along with them in his 5th wheel. He loved wood working which developed into an amazing skill level throughout retirement which he enjoyed until his passing.

Chris will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Lil – his wife of 63 years, their children: Kelly Johnson, Wayne Miller (Carol), Bryan (Chrissy) Miller, Holly Plenderleith; Grandchildren: Kim (Blair), Stacey, Brandon (Ashli), Stephanie, Adam, Calen. Great-grandchildren: Brynn, Brett, Marley, Mikael, Daxton; Sisters: Annabel Chemko, Mary Kryzanowski; In-laws: Anne (James) Bast, Florence (Vince) Dewing, Colleen Holley, Berny Jacob (Bob Wall), Marty (Brian)Kuysten and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Chris was predeceased by his parents James and Isabelle; sister Agnes, brothers Bob & John; Inlaws: Karl & Mary Jacob; Dorothy & sons (Doug & Joey); Karl Jacob Jr., Chris Jacob, & Joyce Jacob.

Chris did not want a funeral. He will be laid to rest by his immediate family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: B.C. Lung Association, 2675 Oak Street, Vancouver, B.C., V6H 2K2
