In loving memory ~
We are saddened to announce the passing of Bill Jmaiff on March 3, 2023. Bill left this world the same way he came in - on his own terms. He was born in the back seat of a car because he couldn't wait to get to the hospital in New Denver, BC. Bill spent most of his younger days in 'Appledale', in the beautiful and quiet Slocan Valley and often talked about his idyllic childhood riding horses, whittling things out of wood and trying to keep up with his two older brothers, Mike and Louie.
Bill met the love of his life, Nora Makeiff in 1955, they were married in 1956 and went on to have four children together; Beverly, Bobbie, Rusty and Mike. Family was the most important thing in Bill's life and a close second was working in his little backyard woodworking shop. Many people have beautiful trunks, picture frames and various other projects that were the result of his interest. He always had a love for animals, and at one point rescued a baby moose that had been abandoned by it's mother, bottle fed it for weeks and then transported it to the BC Wildlife Park in Kamloops, BC.
Bill is survived by his daughter Bev (Aubrey), son Rusty (Lynn), son Mike (Delanee), grandchildren Ward, Lucas, Cassie, Morgan, Harlee and Roland, and great grandchildren Harlo, Harper and Austyn. He is predeceased by his parents Mike and Polly, his wife Nora and his son Bobbie.
