Beulah married her childhood sweetheart Fred Poland in December 1947 and together they raised five children.
Mom and Dad spent many years hiking and fishing out on the Big Bend. Mom fished with great tenacity showing up many of her male counterparts. Beulah was also well known for her homemade bread and her lovely flower gardens. She was an avid cribbage player and won her share of crib tournaments.
