Allan Howard Vaughan passed away in Golden on Friday, April 8, 2016 at the age of 87 years. A private family graveside service was held at the family plot in the Golden Community Cemetery on April 15, 2016.
Allan was born in Golden on October 17, 1932 where he remained a lifelong resident. Allan enjoyed working with his hands and after leaving employment with the then Kicking Horse Forest Products became self-employed using his building skills in carpentry, wiring and plumbing. Allan was also a keen outdoorsman who enjoyed duck hunting, curling, golfing and spending many a day camping, fishing and gardening with his wife Jean. Allan served on the Golden School Board, was a former Kinsman and a member of the Golden Masonic Lodge and took pleasure in participating in many community activities over the years.
Allan was predeceased by his wife Jean (nee Feuz) on May 12, 2011; his oldest daughter Cheryl in January 1980; parents Emery and Edna Vaughan, sister Vivian Feuz and brother Delbert Vaughan. He is survived by two daughters: Sandra (Ray) Falbo; Marianne (Ken) Hamilton; two sons: Michael (Judy) Vaughan and Kelly Vaughan all of Golden; seven grandchildren: Heather (Jason) Skrenka, Michael Weir, Jeffrey Falbo (Tara), Francine Falbo (Richard), Allyson Hamilton (Evan), Kourtney Hamilton (Joe) and Ashley Hamilton (Ryan), Jessica Strath (Dan), Sarah Pilling (Jeremy) and Thomas Vaughan; nine great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements were in the care of Hindman Bowers Funeral Home, Golden, B.C.
