Alice Mary Milum (nee HULIN), more affectionately known as Billy to her friends and Nanny to her family, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 14th, 2016.

Born to Kathleen Margaret Weatherley and James Thomas Hulin on May 6, 1929 in Lethbridge, AB. She was married to Richard Nelson Milum on September 5, 1948. She was pre-deceased by both her husband Richard, and her brother Richard as well as her son, Patrick Neil Milum.

She is survived by her daughter Margaret Ann Bodie, daughter-in-law Nola Anne Milum as well as five grandchildren, Justine (Jamie), Nelson (Lindsay), Jamie, Jessie (Jordan) and Rick (Erica). Nanny also leaves behind five great grandchildren, Ethan, Katie, Makayla, Cheyenne, and Lincoln.

Nanny taught us about picking huckleberries, and peeing in the woods. She taught us how to mix drinks, and roll cigarettes. She taught us how to niggle potatoes out of the hill. She loved gardening and always had a handful of raspberries, or a bag of potatoes for whoever came along.

She had only a few friendships, they were lifelong, and they were cherished.

Friends are invited to join the family at Alice’s granddaughter’s home at 1pm on Saturday, November 19th (1211 10th Avenue South, Golden, BC).
