Albert Wynne Ruttan

Al passed peacefully aged 78 in Golden. He is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth and his children Lynne Sandover; Patricia Streeter; Gordon (Jackie) Ruttan; Douglas (Emily) Ruttan; Carol (Jamie) Fitchett; Tracey Ruttan (Lenny); 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Al served in WWII with the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve, on HMCS Robert. He had many stories as the HMCS Robert was the first ship to liberate Hong Kong followed by the British 11th fleet. Following WWII Al served with the RCAF where he met his wife of 49 years. He also served with the Rocky Mountain Ranger Cadet Corp.


He was a long time CP Rail employee in Revelstoke and retired in Golden after 30 years of service. In his later years Al pursued his hobbies of Cadillac’s, fixing air conditioning and pocket watches, amongst many other activities. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.


Cremation by Al’s request a private family service will be held at a later time.
