UPDATE: Accident kills Sorrento man

Trans-Canada East Traffic Services Highway Patrol is investigating a collision that took place east of Shuswap Lake Estates Wednesday.

RCMP Report on Nov. 30 at approximately 1 p.m. a two-vehicle collision on Highway #1 and Greer Road near Blind Bay.

“An eastbound Ford Escort crossed the centre line and collided with a westbound Peterbuilt tractor trailer unit.

“The 61-year-old male driver of the Ford Escort resided in the Sorrento area and was deceased at the collision scene.

“The two occupants of the Peterbuilt were transported to the hospital and after being examined were released.

“Members of the Trans Canada East Traffic Services unit continue to investigate the cause of this collision and are assisting the B.C. Coroners Service,” said a Golden RCMP release.

 

The Observer will provide an update on the accident as soon as new information becomes available.
