Sgt. T. Durand

Golden/Field RCMP

On Nov. 10, in Golden, just before 9 a.m., a male unlawfully entered a residence on Hietala Road through an unlocked front door.

The male left the residence shortly after discovering someone was inside the home. The male was described as Caucasian with tanned skin, a scar beneath the left corner of his mouth and underneath his eye, facial hair, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet 1 inch tall, and was around 20 to 25 years old.

The male was wearing blue jeans, a red and black plaid DC brand hooded sweatshirt, sunglasses and possibly a hat. It is possible that the male had been watching the residence to wait for the owners to leave prior to breaking in.

The Golden RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in this matter in identifying the male, and would like to remind home owners to make it a habit to lock their doors. If you have any information regarding this incident, or any similar incidents, please contact the Golden/Field RCMP at 250-344-2221 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
