The executive administration of the Town of Golden is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Lisa Vass to the position of Chief Financial Officer to the municipality, who began her duties at Town Hall this morning.
“Since the departure of our prior CFO in March, the town has been missing a critical member of its management team and it’s fantastic to have Ms. Vass at the helm to lead us in maintaining sustainable financial management practices, developing sound policies, and guiding the corporation in its financial planning”, said David Allen, Chief Administrative Officer.
“Council is extremely pleased with the situation” reported Mayor Christina Benty, “it was critical that we be able to bring in a new CFO with proven experience in municipal finance and a reputation in being integral in a larger team environment. We are delighted to have Ms. Vass on board.”
“I am really looking forward to working with the Town of Golden Council and staff, and being part of such an innovative and active community – and I’m particularly glad to be back in western Canada”, Vass stated.
Ms. Vass and her husband recently heralded from Peterborough, Ontario, where she spent the last two years as a financial project manager for the municipality. In the previous 12 years, she worked for the City of Calgary and Mountain View County in Alberta also in local government financial management. She is looking forward to dusting off her downhill skis and continuing her love of snowshoeing and Nordic skiing in the winter, while getting as many kilometres as she can on her mountain bike till her husband and her road bike arrive later this year.
