The festival has been postponed due to COVID.

The Banff Film Fest has tentatively been rescheduled for March 4 and March 5, after being postponed in early January due to COVID capacity restrictions.

Ticket holders can use your existing ticket for these new dates OR come into AGOG for a refund.

Friday, Jan. 7 tickets can be used on Friday, March 4 only. Saturday, Jan. 8 tickets for Saturday March 5 only.

The original dates were scheduled for Jan. 7 and Jan. 8 at the Mt. 7 Rec Plex for an audience of 325 each night. The rescheduled dates will have the same capacity.

“Given current local realities, and with an abundance of care and caution for our community audience, our volunteers, and staff we have decided to POSTPONE these shows until a later date,” read a statement at the time from Kicking Horse Culture, who bring the event to Golden each year.

The event is one of KHC’s most popular annual events, and brings a compendium of highlights from the year’s best short films, a showcase for the most thrilling aspects of mountain culture and the world’s most pristine, beautifully remote environments.

The Banff Festival itself – which screens the very best of several hundred films that have been carefully juried – is the largest, and one of the most prestigious, mountain festivals in the world.
