Leslie Adams runs for Town Council

Town of Golden: Adams, Leslie - Council Candidate... Leslie Adams' self profile

  • Oct. 14, 2014 8:00 p.m.

Leslie Adams is running for town council.

Golden has been my home since 1990. For the past 24 years I have enjoyed being an active and involved community member. Golden has been good to me, and I have always felt that the time would come when I would take the next step, and offer my time and abilities to serve in an elected capacity.

I believe that the diversity of services, opportunities and people make Golden one of the best places in the world to live, and together we encourage both the growth of Golden and the preservation of our community values.

My volunteer and professional experiences have provided me with a deep connection to the community. I currently work part-time for the Columbia River – Revelstoke Constituency Office, primarily working as an advocate. I have volunteered with organizations such the First Golden Scouts, Parent Advisory Committees Civil Air Search and Rescue, and the Adult-Youth Diversion Program. I have also volunteered on the Board of Directors for Project Adamant, the Columbia Valley Dog Club, the Golden Women’s Resource Centre, and currently the Golden Community Resource Society. I also own and operate a small consulting and life coaching company and am an independent sales consultant for a direct sales company.

As a town councillor, I will be approachable and will bring your issues and ideas to our community discussion. I will work on problems and concerns in a common sense, solution-focused way. I believe that we must make good decisions that balance fiscal responsibility with environmental values and a commitment to social justice.

I believe in living every day in a principled way. I value honesty, integrity, reliability, caring and approachability. And this is what I intend to bring to my work as a town councillor.

I look forward to hearing your ideas for our community. Leslie Adams: phone 250 344 6919, email AdamsLeslie77@gmail.com, or Facebook – Vote Leslie Adams for Golden Town Council 2014.
