Kicking Horse Country Chamber of Commerce bringing trade show to Golden

The Kicking Horse Country Chamber of Commerce set to host The Golden Spring Home and Lifestyle Show.

The Golden Spring Home and Lifestyle Show is in its early planning stages, and is currently selling booths for the event taking place on April 14 and 15. The Kicking Horse Country Chamber of Commerce has booked the Golden Arena for the occasion, and they are expecting upwards of 60 booths.

“In the past we did the Women’s Show. And last year we did the Women’s Show and Green Show. This year we just want to bring everything together into one event,” said Ruth Hamilton, office manager of the Chamber.

“So we decided to rebrand it, and now it’s called the Golden Spring Home and Lifestyle Show.”

This two-day trade show will be exhibiting just about everything you can think of from various products, to construction trade companies, to health and lifestyle experts.

“We’ll still have the products, but now it will include the construction trade, plumbers, electricians, venders who sell green products could be there. And lifestyle is included, so nutrition coaches, yoga instructors, and health products. So everything about living in Golden and living a healthy lifestyle,” said Hamilton.

The Chamber is expecting 60 to 70 booths at the show. The amount of space will depend on what size of booth businesses buy (the options being a 10X10, 10X20, or 20X20).

“We’re hoping to get maybe a car dealership in there, maybe a furniture supplier that will take a larger space,” said Hamilton.

Chamber members will receive $100 off the cost of a booth, but Hamilton recommends that potential exhibitors purchase their booth sooner rather than later. The show often sells out, and last year they were right at capacity.

“I had one business attribute $100,000 worth of sales one year to the trade show. Not right at the show, but from leads that were gained at the trade show,” said Hamilton. “So it is definitely worth it to set up a booth.”

The Chamber is expecting around 1,200 people to come and check out the show. It is the only opportunity in Golden where people can check out and compare various businesses in one place.

“I’m really excited about it. I think it’s going to be a great show for Golden, and it’s going to bring all the businesses into one location. So if someone is thinking about renovating this year, they can come to the show and meet with a plumber and an electrician, and get some advice on the best products,” said Hamilton.

“And if someone wants to start off fresh in the spring and take on a healthy lifestyle. There will be people there they can go and talk to.”

Of course there will be more than just browsing to do at the trade show. There will be a stage with entertainment every hour, a concession, a free community pancake breakfast on the Sunday morning, arts and crafts, and a children’s centre.

“There will be tons of prizes as well. Each exhibitor will have a door prize. And the Chamber will have door prizes as well that will be raffled off to people,” said Hamilton. “There’s probably going to be close to $8,000 worth of door prizes to be won.”

The trade show will go from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday April 14, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday April 15. Anyone who wants to have a booth in the show can contact the Chamber office at 344-7125, or info@goldenchamber.bc.ca. or visit the Chamber website at www.goldenchamber.bc.ca.
