Kicking Horse Mountain Resort has gotten some national attention, receiving a nod from Canadian Living Magazine as one of the Canada’s 10 best ski destinations.

KHMR came in at number seven, right behind fellow Resorts of the Canadian Rockies hill in Fernie.

Rounding out the top five are Whistler Blackcomb, Sun Peaks, Banff/Lake Louise, Mount Tremblant, Quebec, and Le Massif, Quebec.

The magazine boasts about KHMR’s fourth-highest vertical drop in North America at 1,260 metres, the 369 degree view of the Rocky, Selkirk, and Purcell Mountains, and the Eagle’s Eye Restaurant, the highest elevated eatery in Canada.

It also advertises Golden as a great place for the non-skier to check out, with a wolf centre, climbing gym, great snowmobiling and tubing.

Canadian Living prides itself on being the ultimate food & women’s lifestyle resource magazine. The popular magazine ranked number four the first half of 2012 at a circulation of 511,814.
