The Trans-Canada Highway is now re-opened after a rock slide, according to DriveBC.

Estimated detour time was approximately eight hours. It’s one of many highway closures Monday, as a storm ravages the province, bringing winter weather to East Columbia and the Kootenays, and flooding throughout the Interior.

Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm warning from Rogers Pass to Eagle Pass, as 15-25cm of snow is expected to fall through Monday afternoon, creating hazardous winter conditions. Heavy winds are also expected for this area.

Travel is not recommended unless necessary.

Limited visibility with fog between Glacier National Park West Boundary and West Boundary of Yoho National Park for 125.1 km between Golden and Revelstoke is creating hazardous driving conditions.

Compact snow, as well as slush, are being reported along the highway.
