Louisiana-Pacific Corporation (LP) (NYSE: LPX) announced today that Derek Dahlin, son of LP employee Blane Dahlin and Kelly Dahlin, has been selected as a recipient of the 2011 LP Scholarship. The annual $1,500 award is renewable for three additional years, for a total of $6,000 over a four year period.

Derek is a graduate of Golden Secondary School in Golden, B.C.

Fifteen children of LP employees across the U.S. and Canada were awarded the LP Scholarship this year. Recipients of the competitive scholarship are selected based on a number of factors, including academic record, leadership, community involvement, goals and aspirations.

The LP Scholarship Program was established more than 30 years ago for college-bound children of LP employees. The program is administered by Scholarship Management Services, an independent, non-profit organization.
