Golden pilot loses life in Alberta helicopter crash

The deceased pilot in a Northern Alberta helicopter crash has been identified as Bryce Campbell from Golden.

The deceased pilot in a Northern Alberta helicopter crash has been identified as Bryce Campbell from Golden.

Shortly after noon on Wednesday May 29, RCMP responded to the scene of the crash more than 100 kilometres north of Fort McMurry.

The helicopter was carrying two passengers, biologists Kristina Norstrom and Simon Slater, both with the Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development.

Norstrom died in the crash, while Slater was rushed to hospital, and is reportedly recovering well.

The official investigation into the crash continues.
