The beautiful Emerald Lake Lodge was full of glammed up Goldenites for the first annual 911 Emergency Services Ball.

Police officers, firefighters, paramedics, dignitaries, and family and friends gathered to celebrate local emergency service workers, and to raise money for a valuable cause.

STARS Air Ambulance was the recipient of the inaugural fundraising event. The money will go to help the organization transport patients in their helicopters in the prairies, as well as eastern British Columbia.

There were touching speeches from Mayor Christina Benty, MP David Wilks, and vice president of STARS Mike Lamacchia, who happens to have been born in Golden and raised in Field.

Attendees enjoyed a delectable four-course meal, perused the silent auction, and then moved onto the dance floor for the rest of the evening.
