A 51-year old male skier from Colorado has died in a Calgary hospital as a result of his injuries after a fall on a marked double black diamond trail within the ski area boundary at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.
On Friday April 1st, at approximately 2:40pm Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Safety Personnel responded to a skier incident in an area known as Feuz Bowl.
The skier was treated for multiple injuries including head trauma and was transported VIA helicopter to the Golden and District Hospital. The skier was later transferred to a Calgary hospital.
Kicking Horse Mountain Resort extends its sincerest sympathies to the family and friends of those involved.
Currently the Golden RCMP is working with Kicking Horse Mountain Resort to conduct an accident investigation.
At this point the name is not being released due to notification of next of kin.
